The Secret Life of Chairs, ‘Breath, Breathless’, R-Space Gallery, Lisburn 2017

A drawing and installation project in response to a year of conversation with visual artist Kevin Killen, and presented as part of a two person exhibition. The installation comprises three parts; three large drawings, a deconstructed armchair and a glowing light in the front window of the gallery.

The work explores domestic lives while considering the historic uses of the gallery as a former home place to many families; Families who have lived, slept and eaten here, and here, together, discussed their life’s plans, relationships and the day-to-day.
